DAY THIRTY SIX

Day 36 Riding on the energy of the Solstice and with a good night’s sleep under my belt, I woke before dawn to watch the sunrise viewing of Uluru. We created a “bush breakfast” of French toast with maple syrup, stewed apples with cranberrys and spicy sausages. Cooking in a remote area of the park all tourists had left bar a few of us who huddled sipping coffee and marvelling at our location. We cycled around the spiritual red centre of Australia once clockwise waving to our breakfast guests and then decided to go again anti clockwise. A cold wind kept our pedals in momentum. Yet we were on fire with excitement. A last view of her brilliance at sunset and a farewell drive at dusk. Spirit soul ancestors talking. It was simple. It went smoothly. It was profound.
